Financial
Aid at Clatsop consists of grants, loans, scholarships and part-time
employment. Amounts of financial aid range from $100 to several thousand
dollars. You
must apply annually, as soon after January 1 as you can for the following
September. Some funding is limited and is distributed on a first-come,
first-served basis.
The Financial Aid Office determines your eligibility by analysis of the Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and other documentation using federal
and state guidelines. The FAFSA form is available at the Financial Aid Office
and can be downloaded from the FAFSA web
site. It is also available from high school guidance counselors. It is the only
application necessary to begin the financial aid process.
Before
financial aid can be disbursed, you must also complete the following:
1) Admissions -
In order to be eligible to receive financial aid you must complete
the admissions
process and be admitted to a certificate or degree program by 5:00 pm.,
Friday, the first week of class for the term in which you want to receive
aid.
2) Transcripts -
If you are a transfer student, you must also submit grade transcripts from all
previously attended post-secondary institutions to the Admissions Office before
financial aid can be disbursed.
You can download
a transcript request form here (40 KB,.PDF), but remember to include payment
required by each institution. Please note that Clatsop CC has a credit limit
for financial aid eligibility. To remain eligible for financial aid at Clatsop, you must finish your CCC Academic program within 150% of the published length. All credits attempted
at other institutions and all credits attempted at Clatsop count toward this
credit limit.
