Grants

Pell Grants:
Pell Grants are awarded to undergraduate students who have not earned a bachelorís or professional degree. Unlike loans, Pell Grants do not have to be repaid. The maximum award for the 2008-2009 year is $4,731. How much you get will depend on an analysis of your FAFSA, your cost of attendance and your enrollment status. The U.S. Department of Education guarantees that each participating school will receive enough money to pay Pell Grants to all of its eligible students.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant: (FSEOG) is for undergraduate students with exceptional financial need and gives priority to students who receive Pell Grants. Like Pell Grants, an FSEOG does not have to be paid back. Students must be enrolled in at least 6 credits.

There is no guarantee that every eligible student will be able to receive a FSEOG. Students at each school are paid based on the availability of funds.

At Clatsop, FSEOG is paid first to Pell recipients with the lowest ability to pay, on a first-come, first-served basis, so it is important to apply early.

CCC Success Grant:
Clatsop is pleased to offer the CCC Success Grant to all first time freshman. The maximum CCC Success Grant is for $300 a term at a full time enrollment level and is prorated for enrollments of half to three quarter time. This grant is renewable for the following 5 terms as long as you achieve a cumulative 2.75 grade point average each term. You could receive up to $1,800 over a two-year period from this Grant! You must complete the FAFSA to qualify.

Opportunity Grants:
Opportunity Grants are also available for up to $2,600 a year for full time enrollment and prorated at enrollments of half to three-quarter time. Income guidelines apply.

Clatsop is committed to providing access to an education for all students. So for those students who are first time freshman and meet income guidelines, Clatsop will fully fund the cost of education at CCC with grants and student employment! Success Starts Here!
