Cooperative Work Experience is a college course that offers college credit for learning that takes place at a specific, approved work station. As a student, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in your field of study, making your skills desirable to potential future employers.
What is Cooperative Work Experience?
- It is a partnership between the student, the College, and employers to train the work force of the future.
- It is a credit course offered to
students in most areas of study. Credit is given for
learning, which takes place at a work-site related to
a student's major area of study. Credit is variable for
Cooperative Work Experience, and may also include an
additional one (1) credit Work Experience Seminar.
- Credit can be earned regardless of whether the student is paid or a volunteer.
- It is a program that helps students practice skills they have learned in the classroom in a real job setting.
