Get ready to shake, rattle and roll in celebration of the 2006 RAIN Magazine.
Clatsop Community College’s student run literary magazine invites
the public to a Free Reading and Reception launching the 2006 Spirit
of Discovery edition. Immediately following the reception, we invite
all ages to join us on the dance floor while raising a little money for
next year’s publication. The reading will take place at 6:30 p.m.
and the Rain Dance will follow at 8pm. Both events take place on the
Jerome Campus Art Center, May 5, 2006.
Poets and authors featured in the magazine are invited to read their
accepted submissions aloud, and original art from the magazine will be
on display. Refreshments will be served following the reading, providing
opportunities for artists, writers and readers to mingle. This portion
of the evening is free, as it always has been.
New this year is the fundraiser Rain Dance. Immediately following the
reception, the Clatsop Community College Art Center will be transformed
into a dance hall, featuring a wide variety of dee-jayed danceable songs.
There will be a charge of $4.00 for general admission and $3.00 for students,
with 100% of the proceeds donated to RAIN Magazine’s 2007 edition.
Please join us for a fun evening of poetry, prose, art and tunes to groove
to.
