Royal Nebeker is a painter and printmaker whose work appears in museum
collections both in the United States and Europe. In addition to exhibiting in
galleries
and museums these past 25 years in the United States, his work has been regularly
exhibited in Norway, Denmark, Germany and France. In 2001 his work was included
in a contemporary survey of European gallery artists at the Louvre, Paris. His
international activities include lectures and workshops in places as diverse
as Japan, Scandinavia, Italy and Mexico. In 2004 Royal was invited to exhibit
his work influenced by the plays of Henrik Ibsen at the Norwegian National Theater
and give the inaugural address for the new Fine Arts Campus at the National School
of Fine Arts in Oslo, Norway.
Craig Shepherd is the Executive and Artistic Director for the Coaster
Theatre
Playhouse in Cannon Beach, Oregon. Craig is a fine painter and internationally
known set-designer and scenic artist. His talented set-designs grace the stages
of not only The Coaster Theatre, but selected local theatre productions at the
River Theatre in Astoria and local high school as well. Craig Shepherd is currently
hosting Dramatic Arts Professor John Cochran as Guest Director of David Auburn’s
Pulitzer Prize Winning Play Proof . Proof will be performed at the Coaster Theatre
Playhouse January 27 and 28 and February 3,4,10,11,12 (3pm), 16,17,18.
John H. Cochran brings over thirty-eight years of experience
in theatre, film
and television to the Coaster Theatre’s Production of Proof. John taught
acting and directing at Stanford, Yale and Westmont College, where he also played
many roles on stage as a member of both the Stanford and Yale Repertory Theatres.
His former students include Danny Glover, John Tuturo, Francis Mc Dormand and
Angel Basset. John’s film credits include The Extraordinary Seaman and
the classic Hang ‘Em High, and his guest starring roles on television include
The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and The Name of the Game. Love Letters with Martin Sheen,
Lynn Redgrave, George C. Scott and Trish Van Devere, The Misanthrope, Of Mice
and Men, and Chekov’s Three Sisters are among John’s numerous
directing credits. Recently John starred in the first highly acclaimed African
American
production of PROOF at the famed Goodman Theatre in Chicago.
