on the issues involved.
Writing workshops scheduled are: song writing, lead by John Palmes of Juneau

started as a greenhorn writer, lead by Jon Broderick of Cannon Beach.
Media production workshops at Columbian Theater are: slides on setnetting in
Kodiak AK by Perry Broderick of Cannon Beach, along with Reefnet, a short
film on the Lummi Island WA fishery by Sketch Pasinski of Shade City CA;
Shadows of the Past, a shadow puppet show and oral history of salmon fishing
on the Columbia River, by Moe Bowstern of Portland; a documentary on the
Fisher Poets Gathering filmed by Jen Winston of New York NY, along with The
Women of Snug Harbor AK: Transforming a Fish Cannery into a Community of
Fishers," a historical essay with photos, by Katie Johnson Ringsmuth of
Fairbanks Alaska.
Saturday workshops end at the Baked Alaska with 1:30 p.m. demonstrations of
filleting a salmon by Lorrie Haight of Long Beach WA, and making a
bouillabaisse dish by David Campiche of Seaview WA.
Over 40 fisher poets, creative prose writers and songwriters from Alaska,
British Columbia, Oregon, California and DC are expected to take the stage
to share their creative work with the evening audience. Among local
presenters expected are: Harrison "Smitty" Smith of Long Beach WA, Wesley
