Clatsop Community College is very pleased to announce that Providence
Health System of Oregon has made a generous donation of $4,000 to the
Lives In Transition Program (LIT).
Teresa Lynch, Director of Spiritual Care for Providence Health System
of Oregon, presented the check to Margaret Frimoth, LIT Coordinator,
on January 10. Ms. Lynch praised the program, and said, “The LIT
Program’s dedication to learning, personal improvement, and advancement
in education is a real contribution to the county. May this charitable
contribution advance the quality programs you provide to offer learning
and enhance the lives of those in transition.”
LIT helps students overcome the barriers that often prevent school success.
The donation will help to fund transportation, childcare reimbursement,
wellness information/healthy activity, and school fees for students in
the LIT Program.
"
Without student support funds, without access to the LIT program and
its textbooks, and without on-going encouragement, most single-parent,
displaced students and dislocated workers would be unable to successfully
complete their education,” says Ms. Frimoth. “However, with
economic and emotional support, LIT students become committed and successful
learners."
