"Romancing the PAC” Benefit Concert to raise funds to improve the CCC Performing Arts Center in Astoria and CCC Arts & Ideas

Community College Arts & Ideas and CCC Foundation proudly present “Romancing the PAC,” an evening of exquisite music with internationally acclaimed composer and violin virtuoso Kim Angelis, with Josef Gault, guitar, and David Carlson, piano, on Saturday, February 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the CCC Performing Arts Center, 16th & Franklin, Astoria. This benefit concert will raise funds to improve both the facility and the Arts & Ideas program.

Kim Angelis has enthralled concert audiences from Ancud, Chile, to Alaska and over the seas to Asia with her dazzling virtuosity and exuberant stage presence. She is often described as “transforming herself from a soft-spoken, modest and spiritual person into a wild creature of the violin with flying skirts and hair, a few broken bowstrings and stomping heels.” (Clancy Hughes, Inflection Point)

Josef Gault, “The Wild Hungarian” is a native of Michigan who has devoted himself to music since 1994. His flamenco-styled guitar artistry is inspired by such luminaries as Manitas de Plata and Sabicas. He is the host of the popular “All Kinds of Folk” radio program on KMUN/KTCB, Astoria, and is also the Technical Production Manager at Clatsop Community College.

Kim and Josef are delighted to perform this benefit concert in their hometown of Astoria. They will be featuring the romantic aspect of their music, introducing new material, and of course, will perform "The Astoria Waltz." They extend a heartfelt “thank you, Astoria, for embracing this song so warmly!”

The CCC Arts & Ideas program encompasses a broad spectrum of cultural enrichment offerings that are presented in a setting of artistry and education, providing opportunities for creativity and learning for both artists and audiences alike. It is proud to be a contributor to the vibrant heritage and cultural arts activities of our community.

The CCC Foundation is dedicated to supporting the College’s mission of providing high quality educational opportunities that serve the community’s needs.

Tickets: $15 adults: $10 students / adults 62+ and are available at the door or by calling 338-2408 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. with VISA or MasterCard.
