CCC Arts & Ideas presents THE FRANK WAKEFIELD BAND

CCC's Arts & Ideas is delighted to present The Frank Wakefield Band on Friday, March 10 at the CCC Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Opening the show will be Saddle Mountain Station, a local bluegrass band.

Frank Wakefield, known as "The Master of the Mandolin", has been touring worldwide, writing and innovating since 1952. Frank Wakefield has twice performed his compositions at New York’s Carnegie Hall and in 1999 he was nominated for a Grammy as part of the Mandolin Extravaganza Album.

As a master musician, Frank believes in passing on to young players the techniques he has acquired over a lifetime and he has had the opportunity to work with many musicians throughout his career. Frank Wakefield’s incredible mandolin playing and unique vocals have graced the sound of many top bluegrass bands, from Jimmy Martin to The Stanley Brothers.

Music lovers know that Frank's long partnership with Red Allen in their famous band “The Kentuckians” gave us some of the best loved classic sounds from the early days of Bluegrass. Clatsop Community College is proud to bring this wonderful musician to our community.

Tickets are $15 general; $10 students & seniors 62+. Advance tickets are available at the CCC Library on the Jerome Avenue Campus from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. They will also be available at the door.
