CCC Art Center to Hold Fashion Show Scholarship Fundraiser

The Clatsop Community College Art Center will hold a fine art fashion show to raise money for visual arts scholarships for regional high school students Friday May 26 at 7:00 PM at the Art Center on Jerome Campus, 1653 Jerome Avenue in Astoria. The event is open to the public. The admission is $5.00 donation and tickets are sold at the door. This show features what the organizers call “powerful imagery” and some fashions exhibited may be considered risqué to some viewers.

Clatsop College writing instructor Nancy Cook will join art instructors Kristin Shauck and Richard Rowland in producing fashion modeling segments. Designs will be created and produced by Clatsop students and faculty with the help of Astoria artist Gillian Hall and her design studio. Astoria Violinist Jeffrey Reynolds and friends will accompany the show with live music, and Clatsop speech instructor and MC Deac Guidi will provide theatrical monologue before the performance. There will be appetizers from local stores and restaurants served.
