Jennifer Goodenberger to give rare performance at CCC’s Performing
Arts Center
Clatsop Community College’s Arts & Ideas kicks off its fall
concert series with a performance by Jennifer Goodenberger at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, October 21 at the CCC Performing Arts Center in Astoria. This
is a CD release concert of her new CD “Simple Gifts: American Folk
Songs.”
Jennifer is a concert pianist, composer, poet and visual artist. In this
recording, she performs her own exquisite and sometimes haunting arrangements
of American folk songs. Many of the songs she has known since childhood,
others were learned in college while studying the ballads of Appalachia.
Her playing style ranges from deeply healing and spiritual to passionate
and romantic.
With this concert and CD release, Jennifer shows yet another side to
her versatile musical abilities. After many years as a classical concert
pianist and musical director for theater, she most recently has combined
her musical and artistic talents by performing original piano compositions
accompanied by her paintings and poetry. She also gives concerts and
workshops on the healing affects of music, and teaches private piano
lessons. Jennifer has two CDs of original piano solos, “Return” and “Mystical.”
This is a rare opportunity to see Jennifer in a full-length concert,
as she has not performed one in this area in four years. Her artwork
will also be on display and for sale in the foyer of the Performing Arts
Center on the evening of the performance.
The Clatsop Community College Performing Arts Center is located at 16th
and Franklin Streets in Astoria. Tickets are $10 and are available Bach
N’ Rock, 339 12th Street, located downtown next to the Hotel Elliot
or at the PAC box office one hour before the performance begins.

Arts & Ideas 2006-2007 events. Coming on October 29 is “Across
the Channel,” music from the British Isles, France and the Netherlands.
