Arts & Ideas presents Coaster Readers Theatre at the PAC

Arts & Ideas is delighted to partner once again with the Coaster Theatre to present their Readers Theatre production of A. R. Gurney’s comedy, The Cocktail Hour, winner of the Lucille Lortel Award as Best Off-Broadway Play, on Friday and Saturday, April 27 and April 28 at 7 p.m. at the Clatsop Community College Performing Arts Center at 16th and Franklin, Astoria.

The Cocktail Hour is the story of John, a playwright, who returns to his family’s home with his latest play, which he’s written about them. He wants their permission to proceed with the production, but his wealthy and very proper parents are leery, and his sister wants a bigger role. The action takes place during the cocktail hour, and as the martinis flow so do the recriminations and revelations, both funny and poignant.

Directed by Shanda Bonn, The Cocktail Hour features Paul Dueber, Valerie Ryan, Don Mespelt and Stephanie McGuire.

Tickets are $8 adults and $5 for students and seniors. Tickets are available at the door one hour before performance.
