CCC Student Government cheers area seniors with Valentine balloon bouquets
Residents of the Astor House retirement center, the Clatsop Care retirement
center and patients at Columbia Memorial Hospital were cheered with Valentine’s
Day balloon bouquets delivered by the Clatsop Community College Associated
Student Government (ASG) on February 13 and 14.
Over 100 bouquets, attached to beanie bears, were delivered by ASG officers
Sara Berner, Curtis McBride, Ben Fenison and Lois Tivey. ASG officers
Kelsie Schindler and Taylor Keith and volunteer student Samantha Holland
also helped with the project by blowing up balloons.
“It was a lot of fun to see how each of the residents reacted to
the bouquets,” said
ASG Senate Member Ben Fenison. “It was great to do something for
the community and have such a warm response.”
This is the second year that the ASG has delivered balloon bouquets to
local senior centers. Other community service projects hosted by CCC’s
ASG throughout the year include a blood drive and the Head Start Christmas
Tree Project.
