Still Life and Teapots: A Juried Exhibition

The Art Center Gallery at Clatsop Community College in Astoria will be exhibiting the work of local high school art students March 5-30. There will be an opening reception for the artists at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 6 in the Art Center Gallery. The Astoria High School Jazz band will provide music.

Still Life and Teapots, a juried exhibition of drawings, paintings and ceramics will include work from Astoria and Seaside High School art students. Participating in this year’s juried exhibition will be the classes of Nancy Spaan (Astoria) and David Lehigh (Seaside). Students have been working over the past several months to create a body of work that will represent skills being developed within their art classes.

The goals of this exhibition are to give developing young artists a public space in which to exhibit their work while also encouraging the creative youth of our community to pursue their talents and interests on a higher academic level. There will be a scholarship awarded for “Best of Show.”

Still Life and Teapots will be on display at the Clatsop Community College Art Center Gallery March 5-30, with an opening reception for the artists being held Tuesday, March 6 at 6 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. For further information please contact Teri Sund at (503) 338-2478.
