CCC Hosts 3rd Annual Constitution Day Program

The role and operation of the U.S. Supreme Court will be the focus of this year’s Constitution Day program at Clatsop Community College.  The program will be held Monday, September 17, at 6:30 p.m. in CCC’s Patriot Hall, Room 322.  Members of the public are encouraged to attend.  Admission is free.

Dr. Steve Berk, CCC History instructor, will provide an historical setting for understanding the Supreme Court’s role under the U.S. Constitution.  Following his remarks, there will be replay of a 2005 C-SPAN program moderated by Tim Russert and featuring Supreme Court Associate Justices Stephen G. Breyer, Sandra Day O’Connor, and Antonin Scalia.  Afterward, those attending will have an opportunity to discuss their thoughts about the Constitution and the comments of the Justices.
