Matthews, To Speak At Clatsop Community College Are you interested in learning how the Earth is adjusting to climate change? CCC is excited to have John H. Matthews, Freshwater Climate Change Specialist for the World Wildlife Federation, present his views on climate change and adaptation. Mr. Matthews’ presentation, How is the Earth Adapting to Climate Change?, will focus on climate adaptation. Or, as Mr. Matthews states, “the concept that human and ‘natural’ systems must accept and embrace change as a result of realized and future shifts in climate trends.” Mr. Matthews earned hi PhD in Ecology, Evolution, and Behavioral Ecology in 2006 at the University of Texas. His graduate research was concentrated in dragonfly and bird migrations. How is the Earth Adapting to Climate Change? will be presented at CCC on May 8th, 2008 at 3:30 p.m. in Patriot Hall Rm. 322 (located at 1653 Jerome in Astoria, OR). The presentation is sponsored through the Rochester Meteorology Fund and CCC’s Associated Student Government. It is free and open to the public.
