Job Description:
This program prepares people for entry level
positions as accounting clerks, junior accountants, or bookkeepers
who maintain financial records needed for business management.
They prepare financial statements, payroll records and reports,
and keep books and records up to date. They put together reports
to show statistics such as cash receipts and expenditures, accounts
payable and receivable, profit and loss, and financial position.
They may complete worksheets, bank reconciliations, inventory
reports, depreciation schedules, and income tax forms. Knowing
how to use the computer is essential.

The opportunities depend on the economy,
replacement needs, and continued use of accounting and bookkeeping
services in public, private, and governmental organizations. The
use of computers to perform routine accounting and bookkeeping
functions is present in all different sizes of organizations.
Potential Earnings:
The average entry wage is about $1,500 per
month and the average maximum wage is about $2,831 per month.
