Meeting Notes
November 27, 2007

Skip Stanaway, Kendall Harris, and Kent Duffy of SRG Partnership, architects for the College’s Jerome Campus Revelopment Project, provided conceptual design information for Towler Hall at a public meeting held on Tuesday, November 27, 2007.

Sketch of floor plan

The architects are recommending that the entry from the south side of Towler Hall be on the 3rd floor.  This would require some fill, but doing this would decrease the overall issues related to slope from Lexington Street to Towler thus improving accessibility.  In the overall scheme of the building design, the rooms to the north would be classrooms while faculty offices would be placed on the east and west ends of the building.

Floor plan sketch of Towler Hall draft This slide shows the conceptual plans for the first and second floors of the renovated building.  The design is basically the same as the third floor with classrooms on the north side and faculty offices on the east and west.  The large classroom on the second floor would not have windows, but those present thought this was a workable solution.  Concern was expressed about the nature of the mechanical workings directly below and next to this large classroom.

The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, December 12 at 4:00 pm in Patriot 326.  Comments are welcomed at the e-mail address for this project:  jcrp@clatsopcc.edu.
