Clatsop Community College’s Upward Bound program serves students from lower economic backgrounds and/or students that come from households where neither parent has attained a bachelor’s degree. Our program also pays special attention to students that may be academically at risk. We are one of nearly 800 Upward Bound programs that provide services to students across the country.
Upward Bound is the oldest of the federal TRiO programs. It is the result of the Higher Education Act of 1965 that was adopted in order to make higher education available to historically underrepresented populations.
The Upward Bound Program at Clatsop Community College has been operating under a grant from the U.S. Department of Education since 1992. Our program is 100% federally funded in the amount of $282,465.
