Clatsop Community College - Student Right-to-Know Act
2000 - 2001

(Graduation Rate Disclosure)

Clatsop Community College is a two-year public college accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges. In compliance with the national Student Right-to-Know Act, and in order to assist you in evaluating Clatsop Community College's programs and services, the following information on graduation rates as well as licensure/certification passage rates is produced annually.

Of the 117 full-time, first-time, degree or certificate-seeking students enrolled Fall Term, 1998, 23 students (19.7%) completed a degree/certificate program by the end of summer term, 2001, (three years or 150% of the standard degree completion time for full-time college students enrolled in 12 or more credits). Thirteen of the students (11.1%) were still enrolled at the College.

The combined percentage of students who completed degrees/certificates or who are still enrolled is 30.8%. Of the 69.2% who did not graduate or did not remain enrolled, an unknown percentage may have transferred prior to graduation. Students in this group are difficult to track, especially those who enter private or out-of-state institutions. Clatsop has recently joined the National Student Clearinghouse, however, which will allow us to provide additional information in future years regarding the percent of students who transfer prior to graduating. Students, as a result of coursework taken at the College, may also obtain employment prior to graduation in high demand industries where there is labor shortage.

It is also important to know how well the College prepares students to take the licensure/certification exams required for entrance into some occupations. Of the programs available at Clatsop Community College, those requiring such external licensing exams are the Maritime Programs: Radar Observer and Coast Guard License Trining; Nursing, EMT, and Welding. Following is a graph indicating the pass rate for exams taken by students in each program.
