5-Day Limited Master/Operator Class |
| The Limited Master/Operator License Class is designed to meet the needs of guides and packers operating passenger carrying vessels on inland waters of Oregon, Washington and Idaho. Any individual who successfully completes Clatsop Community College's five-day course and meets Coast Guard application requirements may be issued a license with the following route description: "....upon inland waters of the Portland Marine Safety Office zone, excluding the Columbia River, the Willamette River downriver of Oregon City, Oregon and the Snake River downriver of Lower Granite Dam, Washington." The class is a mixture of classroom lecture, boat labs and demonstrations. |

Limited Master/Operator Endorsement Class |
|
Individuals who wish to have the Columbia, Willamette, and Snake Rivers added to their license can do so by taking the U.S. Coast Guard approved Rules Of The Road endorsement class. The class covers Rules of the Road and Aids to Navigation in greater depth than the five-day class. The class is offered during any of the dates listed under the general classes.
